Could the MSL post the rules online for all the teams to see. There have been some really odd calls this year, and I think it would benefit everyone if we had a place to view these.

example of an odd call - ref gave a free kick to the other team when one of our players called his own name for a header.

Since I started playing, 1958, it has always been the rule that when challenging for the ball a player cannot "call for it" without saying his name "i.e. Keepers ball or Mike's ball".

A player cannot say something like "leave it" or "my ball" as it is deemed to be cheating (i.e. a center half shouting "leave it" to trick an attacker into letting him have the ball".

Indirect free kick is restart.

No need for league to post go to the laws of the game at FIFA.com
http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/affederation/federation/81/42/36/lotg_en.pdf

Then see page 114 (or page 116 of the PDF) under Law 12 then point 10
quote "verbally distracts an opponent during play or at a restart"

I am now a ref - If your player did shout his name it could just be that the ref misheard what your player said and thought your player was trying to trick his opponent into leaving the ball. None of us are perfect, including any player that has ever played the game!!

thanks Ian, but the player did shout his name and the ref actually told him he couldn't shout his own name. was confusing for both teams on the field because everybody stopped shouting when going for a ball.
